Travis, the chimpanzee who mauled a Connecticut woman in February and left her blind with a severely damaged face, had the anti-anxiety drug Xanax in his system, the Hartford Courant reports, quoting the state attorney's office.

"A US soldier was in custody in Baghdad today after allegedly killing five other military personnel and wounding three. The Pentagon confirmed that a soldier had opened fire at Camp Liberty, a US base just outside Baghdad and next to the international airport. The incident was one of the highest death tolls for the American military in recent months. The Associated Press reported a US official as saying that the shooting took place at a stress clinic, where soldiers suffering mental problems can go for treatment or counselling."

When will people make the connection?
Isn't it odd that 20 years ago, you almost never heard of suicidal rampages? Yet they're practically "common" now. Well, you give out tens of millions of prescriptions for a mind-altering substance (antidepressants are just that) and some percentage of the population will have an adverse side effect. Unfortunately, these side effects include suicide and murderous rampages.
